Course description
Every term, Theology Catch-Up brings you up to speed on recent developments in Christian theology, exploring what impact they might have on the church of today and tomorrow.
This time we are tackling the weighty subject of the Atonement, hoping to cast some light on ongoing debates around just what the Cross is all about. Take a long lunch and enjoy a quick survey of the lie of the land, covering recent themes and controversies in atonement theology.
Not bound to academic tomes, we will also explore creative responses to the Cross in recent art and literature. We will reflect on the meaning of atonement in the light of our current national and global contexts, including what we can learn from trauma informed theologies.
Who is this course suitable for?
